Hatikva Portraits - top 11
Sample of the public portrait project in Tel Aviv (full project is at: http://www.reysbro.com/Portraits/Hatikva-Portrait-Project-all/12425751_AjRJd ). These were all taken in the middle of the open market in HaTikva Neighborhood in south Tel Aviv, using a modest mobile set and surrounded by hundred of people in a crowded setting.
The project took about 4 months to shoot, with the hardest part being earning the trust of the people in the neighborhood. I came at regular intervals and after a few weeks became part of the scenery there. Each week I would print my photos are give them away to those who were kind enough to participate in the project.
Ultimately, it was meant to be displayed in the streets of the market, but unfortunately that didn't work out.
The inspiration came from an interview with Clay Enos.
